Bend is the home of multiple brew pubs! We have a couple of wine bars to help balance things out, but micro brew is definitely a huge part of the culture. (Consequently, many places in town will have a wait during popular dining hours, even early in the week…) We also have some pretty good food…

Portello Wine Cafe’ (portellowinecafe.com): 2754 Northwest Crossing Drive bend, oregon 97701– in the charming area called NW Crossing, for a slightly higher-end meal with good wines and delicious food; the chocolate souffle is incredible!
McMenamins Old St. Francis Theatre (http://www.mcmenamins.com/events/search/Movie?location_id=81): 700 N.W. Bond Street, Bend, OR 97701–favorites: $3 new release movies, comfy couches, great beer and good food (elk burger; or ask for the chicken calzone, which is not listed on the menu) served during the movie; Also–a huge hot soaking tub, $5, for those aching bodies at the end of a long day of riding. 😉
